Summary:
Prepares billing for outpatient and inpatient claims for services to send claims to the appropriate payer. Assures claims are clean at time of billing. Follows-up on accounts by using tools to check the status, takes appropriate adjustments and updates information as necessary.
SHIFT:
Mon- Fri, 8 hr shifts, Full Time

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school level or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience in hospital or physician billing and/or patient access.
- Detail Oriented, Excellent people and organizational skills.
- Computer literate in Windows and Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of Meditech/Allscripts/Epic software beneficial.
DUTIES:
- Ensures timely and accurate daily submission of claims, electronically or via paper.
- Reviews reports in billing system to fix rejections and make corrections or adjustments to meet payer specific guidelines.
- Ensures timely follow-up on billed claims, by contacting payers by phone or using online tools.
- Manages late charges from all departments and determining correct action to take for the claim.
- Reviews aging reports to prioritize follow-up.
- Reviews credit balances to determine if refund is warranted or adjustment correction is needed.
- Participates in committees as assigned
- Performs in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulatory agency standards
- Performs in accordance with EPH vision, mission, and goals
- All other duties as assigned.
Hiring range depending on experience is $16.50 to $22.44
