In the early 1970s, a group of 46 ladies met and founded the Elizabeth Guild Auxiliary to fundraise for the Park Hospital District. Named in honor of Elizabeth Knutsson, for whom the original hospital was named, this group of ladies started a nearly new shop to raise funds.
Today, the Elizabeth Guild Thrift Shop has raised over $3.5 million for Estes Park Health. The Guild is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
A second store, Lizzie’s Boutique, opened in 2006 as an outlet for higher-end items donated to the Thrift Store and is located two doors from the Thrift Shop.
The Guild also hosts a major fundraiser, the Holiday House, which is held annually on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving.
