Emergency Department Care provides medical care for all emergent life-threatening illness and injury including chest pain, signs of stroke, signs of heart attack, uncontrolled bleeding, major broken bones, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain. If you feel you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Physician Clinic provides preventative and routine care, weekday, same-day and scheduled appointments (no Saturday appointments, please use Urgent Care). We provide comprehensive primary and specialty care including physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses.

Community Paramedics provide proactive in-home, short-term care and work as a resource in conjunction with Estes Valley primary care providers. This is a seven-day-a-week service via scheduled appointments. Patients work through their providers to schedule appointments. This is a billed service.

Yes. The parking lot outside of the Urgent Care Center is specifically marked with designated parking spots for patients. The parking lot is monitored, and violators will be towed.

The charges for urgent care services are expected to be dramatically lower than a visit to the Emergency Department.  Most health insurance covers urgent care services with a minor co-pay. A trip to the emergency room hits your hospital co-pay and deductible. If you are a visitor from out of state, please check with your insurance company concerning your individual insurance coverage.

The Urgent Care Center is staffed with a highly qualified nurse practitioner, community paramedic, EMT-B IV and a radiology technician. The Estes Park Health Emergency Department physician is the Urgent Care Center medical director and available for consultation.

The Urgent Care Center has limited capabilities for both of those services. But as a service of Estes Park Health, full lab and X-ray are minutes away.

The Center does not include a full-service pharmacy on site, but patients may receive a single dose of necessary medications to provide relief until an Estes Park pharmacy opens.

Estes Park Health operates a 24/7/365 ambulance crew who are available to transport you to the Estes Park Health Emergency Department.

Estes Park Health went to the Epic electronic health record system in 2020. If your records are part of the Epic system, yes.

If your PCP works in the Epic electronic health record system, he or she can view the notes from your visit. The Urgent Care Center is a service line of Estes Park Health, so the Nurse Practitioners work closely with all PCPs within the Estes Park Health Physician Clinic. If your PCP is not part of the Epic system, you will receive a notice with full details upon your discharge.

Urgent care visits are billed to your insurance company. This is a different, lesser charge than an emergency room visit. Our staff members do their best to get benefit information prior to the visit and collect copayments.  We do not accept out-of-state Medicaid insurance plans here or for any services with Estes Park Health.
