Dr. Connie Wolf is a board-certified urologist with more than 27 years of experience in urology and urologic surgery. After graduating from the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis Medical School, she completed a residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She has been in Colorado ever since, providing comprehensive care for her patients managing conditions and disease in the urinary tract, which includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra, as well as the male reproductive organs. Offering medicinal and surgical interventions, Dr. Wolf performs all of her surgeries at Estes Park Health, giving patients the convenience and flexibility to be near their home for appointments and recovery from surgery or treatments. Some of the specific conditions Dr. Wolf treats include urinary tract symptoms, prostate problems and kidney stones.

“Some of the tests we can conduct here include urinalyses, flow studies for urination and procedures like looking inside the bladder, which we do in the clinic,” Dr. Wolf explained. “I will be doing some surgeries here, focusing on outpatient surgeries. These include circumcision, hydrocelectomy (removal of a fluid-filled sac around the testicle) and kidney stone surgeries.”

In addition to her passion for medicine, Dr. Wolf also enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, cross-country skiing, gardening, baking and reading.

Chronic Urological Issues and Diagnoses

  • Urinary Incontinence: The involuntary leakage of urine, more common in women, with factors like pregnancy, childbirth, and age increasing risk.
  • Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): An enlarged prostate gland in men, commonly seen in older individuals, leading to urinary difficulties.
  • Prostatitis: Inflammation or swelling of the prostate gland in men, causing pain and urinary issues.
  • Overactive Bladder (OAB): Frequent, sudden urges to urinate, potentially causing incontinence.
  • Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome: Chronic pelvic pain associated with bladder pressure and frequent urination.
  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): This condition involves a gradual loss of kidney function over time, potentially leading to kidney failure. It is estimated to affect over 1 in 7 US adults. The most common causes are diabetes and high blood pressure.
  • Erectile Dysfunction (ED): Inability to achieve or maintain an erection, often linked to underlying medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and vascular disease.
  • Kidney Stones: Hard mineral deposits that form in the kidneys and can cause pain and obstruction as they pass.
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Infections in the urinary system that can become chronic or recurrent.

Urological Surgeries

  • Cystoscopy: A diagnostic procedure to see the inside of the bladder and urethra using a thin, flexible scope.
  • Vasectomy: A surgical, generally permanent procedure for male sterilization that involves cutting or blocking the vas deferens, the tube that carries semen from the testicles, and thus preventing the semen from reaching the storage area in the prostate.
  • Scrotal Surgery: Also known as scrotoplasty, the surgical procedure repairs or creates a scrotum due to birth defects, injury or for cosmetic reasons.
  • Bladder Surgery: This surgical treatment refers to a variety of surgical procedures to treat conditions of the bladder and urinary tract, such as for cancer treatment, reconstruction due to birth defects or injury, or loss of bladder control.
