Summary of Position

The Supervisor Respiratory Therapy  is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the RT department and service line. They work closely with the Director and Medical Director of the service line to drive strategy and ensure high quality and safe care based on national standards and best practice.

Shift:

Full time, Monday-Friday- shifts will vary

Duties:

  • Provides care and education to patients throughout the lifespan with respiratory needs in all departments.
  • Responsible for hiring and managing staff skill and behavior.
  • Mentors staff in appropriate decision making and behavior.
  • Responsible for the development of policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for setting RT staff meeting agenda with the Director.
  • Collaborates with nursing leadership on education for proper use of oxygen therapies and equipment.
  • Is the “super-user” for all RT equipment and the documentation system.
  • Is independent in the daily management of the RT service line.
  • Responsible for evaluations of other RT staff members.
  • Leads quality initiatives. This includes data collection and report out.
  • Maintains membership in national organization(s) that help drive standards and best practice.
  • Develops and maintains an accurate scheduling process to ensure adequate coverage for the patient care units.
  • Works closely with materials management to monitor, evaluate, and order inventory and supplies.
  • Staffs and maintains the swabbling clinic.
  • Advises clinical team regarding equipment needs, selection, implementation, and education for staff regarding use of equipment.
  • Documents all patient consults and care in a timely manner according to EPH systems and policies.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of a COARC Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Licensed as an RRT in the state of Colorado
  • Credentialed as an RRT by the National Board for Respiratory Therapy.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a staff registered respiratory therapist (RT).
  • ACLS and PALs on hire.
  • NRP within 3 months of hire.

Hiring Salary: 

$33.88-$42.35 depending on experience.
