Mammography Technologist – Full Time – JOB# 1700

Summary of Position:
Mammographer – Demonstrates cooperative attitude in accomplishing the common goal of patient care within the department and with other personnel affected by the department of Diagnostic Imaging. The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease and works in tandem with other medical personnel in order to achieve organizational goals.
Shift:
Full Time, Mon-Fri, Shift Dates will vary, 8hr or 10hr shifts – depending on candidates needs.
Duties:
- Performs diagnostic and screening mammograms as ordered. Produces high quality images per ACR/MQSA guidelines.
- Educates patients regarding the mammogram exam, and answers patient’s question.
- Reviews patient screening information
- Obtains prior mammogram exams for comparison based on patient’s information.
- Create, document, and send result letters to patients
- Demonstrates competency in the operation of Mammography equipment
- Maintains and performs all Q.C functions as required under FDA/MQSA/ACR regulations.
- Maintains all continued medical education, and required mammogram exam numbers as required by MQSA
- Assists the Mammographer Lead with ACR and MQSA certification tasks:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent; graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
- Must have at least one-year experience as a Mammography Technologist and experienced in Q. C.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography
- Meets all MQSA requirements
- American Heart Association BLS
Hiring Range:
$34.00-$46.24, depending on experience.
